In 2042, I hope to have a happy family and be around loved ones. I want to have positively impacted and touched as many lives as I can, advocating for human rights. I aim to be able to have contributed immensely to the growth of my country Nigeria, as well as those around me. I want to have lived not just making myself happy, but making others happy too. I hope to have left my footprints in the sands of time.

In 2042, I'll be 48 years old. At the time, I want to be living in a beautiful home overlooking the water with the love of my life & 3 kids, mind you they may be teenagers by this time, with a couple dogs as well. I want to be working a job I love & still running competitively. I want my parents to still be alive & healthy. I want to be involved in giving back to my sorority & my university as an alumni. But most of all, I want to be the same as I am now, happy and enjoying each day as it comes.

2042. Seems like light years away. But as my journey through Carleton University comes to a close, now more than ever, I think about my future. In 2042, I hope to be a well-established Occupational Therapist working specifically with people suffering from neuroloigical conditions or injuries. I hope to have a family that travels the world with me often and learns from and values every experience in life. I also hope that my children will be at Carleton, where I grew into the person I want to be.

By 2042, I hope to have made a difference in the way Canadian sports implement concussion prevention. I hope to have made mandatory preseason meetings involving parents that teach the signs and symptoms of concussions for youth recreational sports. And I aim to have stirred up discussions about enforcing new equipment technology in the CFL that reduces the risk and severity of concussions.

In 2042, I would like to be in a Clinical Psychologist role helping victims of PSTD and Depression find their way back to life. I would also like to be working with children sufferers so that they may spend their life living, rather than in fear or darkness. To do this, I will be incorporating gardening, raising animals and learning new life skills to be more self sufficient. In my personal life, I will be a mother, wife and supporter of my family.

The future for me is scary to think about, there are so many unknowns, but these are my thoughts at this point in time. In 2042 I hope to be an architect enjoying the job and feeling secure. I also hope that my relationships with family and friends only continue to grow while I have a family of my own. I sincerely hope I don't lose my positive outlook on life and get the ability to continue giving back whether it's in my own community or across the ocean.
